The mission of the Upper Cumberland Women’s Club is to inspire, motivate and educate women of the Upper Cumberland Region. Using this program, members will be able to assist women in their pursuit of higher education and professional endeavors. Recipients may use the cash award to offset any costs associated with their efforts to attain higher education, including books, childcare and transportation. Active (paid) members that have attended at least 2 meetings in the previous calendar year may nominate themselves or someone they believe could benefit from assistance from the Upper Cumberland Women’s Club. The selection committee will invite judges from outside UCWC to review and score submissions and award assistance as the funding is available. As a part of the nomination, the committee needs information from the nominee. Please fill out the following information and return by the deadline to allow consideration by the committee. The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership qualities and community involvement.

The Upper Cumberland Women’s Club awarded a $1000.00 scholarship to Kimberly Biggs at their regular meeting on April 21, 2015. Kimberly is a Communications major at Tennessee Tech and is the editor of both the campus newsletter and the yearbook. The mission of the Upper Cumberland Women’s Club is to inspire, motivate and educate women of the Upper Cumberland Region. Using this program, members are able to assist women in their pursuit of higher education and professional endeavors by providing a yearly scholarship to a deserving woman. Kayla Danielle Walker of Crossville, TN is the 2013 Upper Cumberland Women’s Club Scholarship recipient. Kayla was award $1,000 by the organization at the February luncheon held at Grey Gables Bed & Breakfast in Rugby, TN. She was nominated for this award by club member Jean Ann Mayberry. Each year the organization selects one deserving recipient from a group nominated by its members to receive a monetary donation to assist them in pursuing academic excellence.
Kayla is a junior at Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, TN majoring in Modified Special Education under the Honors Curriculum Program. She loves helping people and being around children. Being born several weeks prematurely caused underdevelopment of several organs, plus health issues as she grew – bringing many medical bills along the way that her parents are still repaying. This scholarship award will help her reach her life goals. She greatly appreciates the generosity of everyone.

On December 4, 2012 during the Christmas Luncheon at Grey Gables Bed & Breakfast, the Upper Cumberland Women’s Club was proud to present to Kristina Denysova a check for $1,000 as the 2012 recipeint of the scholarship award. Ms. Denysova is a student at Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, TN and a native of the Ukraine.
